Southside Record Fair
Saturday, 31 January – 12:00pm
6-12 Mills Street, Cheltenham
A new Record Fair for the South East and Bayside Melbourne area, continues in January 2015.
Southside Record Fair is southern Melbourne and the Bayside area’s only record fair, and the first time in years that the southern side of town has had a Fair of this type. The organisers were thrilled with the response to the first Fair in November 2014.
Southside is unusual in that the venue used, The Wherehouse in Cheltenham, is fully licensed and so customers are free to have a glass of beer or wine in their hands as they do their record browsing.
At the next Southside Record Fair there will be 10 private vinyl sellers who are mostly hardcore, small time collectors.
Both new and used vinyl of every type will be on offer, with much of it in high quality condition, as you would expect from these type of fastidious sellers.
Live acoustic music during the day
Food, coffee, a licensed bar and seating available all day with a real community market feel
The Crate Digger Record Fair, held upstairs at Bar Open on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy is Melbourne’s longest running and only regular inner-suburban record fair. With stalls over two levels in this renowned music venue, you will find sellers offering up a range of records spanning all genres including rock, pop, indie, punk, prog, blues, jazz, doo wop, garage-punk, soul, funk, folk, metal, soundtracks and more.
Doors open at midday and entry to the fair is free. The bar is open so you can enjoy refreshments while you rifle through crates of records.
It is easily accessible by public transport with access on the 112 and 96 tram lines and various bus routes along Johnston and Victoria Streets. On-street parking is available, some of which is unrestricted and other areas are meter parking, and there is a parking centre attached to Coles next door at very cheap rates (access via Argyle Street).
Since 2012, Crate Digger Record Fairs have branched out, running fairs in various other locations including regular events at Lost & Found in East Brunswick, an annual fair at Northcote Town Hall as well as a one-off record fair in Ballarat for Heritage Weekend 2013.

Happy New Year People!
We’re happy to be able to announce the new dates for the Essendon Record Fair.
As many people already know, its one of the best fairs in Melbourne. There’s always a great mix of sellers (both local and interstaters) who bring a very broad selection of styles and genres. You never know what’ll be there and that’s what makes it great. You can count on seeing most of the classics, rock, pop & Australian etc, but you’ll also see a excellent selection of jazz, funk, soul, disco and more. In the past I’ve seen large collections of Hip Hop, Dance & Techno, Blues, rare Aussie Prog, and Metal too. It’s only a 20 min drive from the city and easy to get to via public transport.
Keep the dates free, if possible, it’s well worth a visit!!!
2015 Fair Dates:
May 31st (Sunday)
September 13th (Sunday)
